“SO… Twitter eh?”

So, well.. i guess that happened.

just in case you don’t know - twitter.com is now under new management, and everyone pretty much thinks it’s a bad idea, and it’s going about as well as anyone might expect.

i kinda don’t want to dwell on this too much, even though it is a big popcorn eating moment… y’know… aside from all the people who have nothing to do with it and just work there so are caught in the middle anyway. so maybe not such a popcorn moment then, kinda seems like the people who actually do the work get screwed no matter what happens… *sigh*

anyway seems like it’s time to start making plans to be less reliant on the hell site. idk.

there’s no solid contender for a successor, and they all suck somehow (i guess nothing changes), but i’m not gonna get too deep into that today.

for now, you can still find me on twitter, at least until things truly implode, but also:

• the fediverse it’s like twitter, but slower and with less stability. also, everyone’s on different servers on different domains so it’s hard to find people.
• cohost it’s not at all like twitter, more like tumblr, but it’s still small and weird. i like it, but they’re not taking VC cash, which is great, but who knows if it’ll survive.
